A.I.R Gallery is pleased to announce generations.04, a salon show of small works in all media including over 400 works made by women artists. This event unites a diverse group of women artists and celebrates their work in a variety of styles and media.
Participating artists were invited by the A.I.R. Gallery artists.

The Generations exhibition series began in 1997 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of A.I.R. Gallery and continues as a biennial event. Founded in 1972, A.I.R. is the first artist-run, not-for-profit gallery for women artists in the country. As art critic Holland
Cotter wrote recently in the New York Times, “Most of the interesting American artists of the last 30 years are as interesting as they are in part because of the feminist art movement of the early 1970’s. It changed everything.... What art in the next 30 years will look like I don’t know, but feminist influences will be at its source.” Continuing in that tradition, generations.04will include well-known artists as well as lesser-known, younger, midcareer and emerging artists.

A.I.R. is also pleased to announce that during generations.04 we will be:

  • conducting a silent auction for the duration of the exhibition in which 70% of sales will go to the participating artists. Through a fundraising collaboration, the gallery’s 30% commission will be shared with the Visiting Nurse Service of
    New York Hospice Care
    .
  • organizing a raffle in which one winner will receive a work of art generously donated by Judy Pfaff. Raffle tickets are for sale to the public for $20 per
    ticket.

  • hosting the Visiting Nurse Service of New York Hospice Care Reception
    & Greeting, Tuesday, March 16th, 6 - 8pm, RSVP by 3/9: 212-794-6430

A.I.R. Gallery is located at 511 W. 25th Street, Suite 301, NYC, NY 10001 and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
